Description | The City has a thirty-five (35) foot float base that must be used in the design of the float. The designer/builder will have a $15,000 budget to accomplish the design and building of the float. All designs must be submitted to the Purchasing Department to scale and in full color for approval. Please provide references and photos of recent floats you have designed and built as part of your proposal. The chosen company will receive three payments. First payment of $7,000 will be a partial completion payment on a date decided on between City and Vendor. The second payment of $6,000 will be paid upon the float's timely delivery to Sandy City. The final payment of $2,000 will be paid at the successful completion of the 2023 parade season. The completed float must be delivered to Sandy City before 3:30 PM (MTN Time) on May 22, 2023. The designer/builder will be responsible for all maintenance, upkeep, and repairs to their float design through the third week of August 2023, which is the end of the parade season. For each parade that is missed due to the fault or negligence of Designer, its employees, agents, or volunteers, the City will deduct $500.00 per parade missed, which will be taken out of the second and/or third paycheck to the Designer. The process of award will be by committee. The committee will base their evaluation on the criteria listed below then apply a score based on the weighted value of that criteria, total of 100 points available. Additional points may be awarded based on the request of a vendor's presentation or interview. 40 Points: Design - How well the design fits in with the theme 25 Points: Experience - Past performance with the City and years of building floats 20 Points: References - Provide a list of references in your proposal with contact information and pictures of the float(s) you built for them. 15 Points: Insurance - Ability to meet insurance requirements Deadline for submittal of questions is 3/8/2023 at 11:00 a.m. |
