Description | Re-lining two (2) Class A burn rooms. The Class A burn prop is a steel building with no utilities. The burn rooms are lined with a thermal protection layer that is independent of the structural makeup of the building and is used to both reflect heat back into the room and protect the building. The rooms have burn pans in them where Class A fires are ignited bringing maximum ceiling temperatures to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The fires are sustained for 10-15 minutes then extinguished by students and the process is repeated. |
