2019 Various Roadway Improvements

The Work of this Contract includes, but is not limited to, installation of storm drainage pipe and inlets, reconstruction of storm drainage inlets, installation of granite block, milling and asphalt paving, and restoration of the project within Wildwood Terrace, Glen Eagles Drive, Carrar Drive, and, various drainage improvements, all in the Borough of Watchung. All work on this contract shall be completed within forty-five (45) calendar days. The award of the contract for this project will not be made until the necessary funds have been provided by Watchung Borough in a lawful manner. Proposals must be made on the standard Proposal Forms in the manner designated in the Contract Documents, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder, and the name of the work on the outside; addressed to Mayor and Council, Watchung Borough; and must be accompanied by a statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the Borough and either a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashier's Check drawn to the order of Treasurer of Watchung Borough for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, except that the check need not exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder is hereby notified that a performance bond for the full amount of the project is required. Watchung Borough or the Engineer reserves the right to require a complete financial and experience statement from prospective bidders showing that they have satisfactorily completed work of the nature required before furnishing proposal forms or specifications, or before awarding the Contract. Proposals for this Contract will be accepted only from bidders who have properly qualified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. The right is also reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities where such informality is not detrimental to the best interest of Watchung Borough. The right is also reserved to increase or decrease the quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, and the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq., the Local Public Contracts Law.
