Description

The City of Rocky Mount is offering a forgivable loan up to $12,500 in funding to assist with the rehabilitation of deteriorated homes that are owned and occupied by very low-income households. The goals of the Urgent Repair Program are: • To alleviate housing conditions which post an imminent threat to the life or safety of very low-income homeowners with special needs; and • To provide accessibility modifications and other repairs necessary to prevent displacement of very low-income homeowners with special needs, such as the frail elderly and persons with disabilities Eligible repairs include flooring system, system upgrades (i.e. plumbing, electrical, and HVAC), roof repair and/or replacement, lead, mold, or asbestos abatement, and accessibility features for entering and exiting the home. The Urgent Repair Program is funded by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and City of Rocky Mount General Fund.
