Description | As of July 28, 2022, project was awarded to Jokerst Paving and Contracting, awarded amount is $235,098.30. The Scope of Work for the Project includes the replacement of existing concrete sidewalks, curb ramps and curb on various streets within Crystal City. Approximate quantities: 10,000 SF of sidewalk/curb ramp; 1,300 feet of curb. Work shall include traffic control, restoration and all other incidental items and work described in the Drawings, Specifications and/or other Contract Documents or reasonably inferable therefrom. The project is funded through the Jefferson County Community Development Block Grant program. The City anticipates issuing a Notice to Proceed once grant approval is received from the CDBG program, with the approximate start date to be late July or early August 2022. Project and bidding questions shall be conducted exclusively via email. Any questions regarding this project must be submitted to: mspalding@cochraneng.com, by 4:00 p.m local time on June 24, 2022. No written questions after this date or any verbal questions will be recognized. When requesting the bid documents, you will be required to provide your company name, a contact person and phone number, a complete company address and an email address to be added to the Plan Holders List and for receiving official bidding communications and addenda. A bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. All work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u. Successful bidder agrees to comply with HUD'S regulations in 24 CFR Part 135. The project is a federally-funded prevailing wage project which triggers Federal Labor Standards Compliance. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in this specification. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, its contract is subject to the "Work Hours Act of 1962," (P.L. 87-581: 76 Stat. 357) and implementing regulations. Effective January 1, 2009 and pursuant to RSMo 285.530 (1), No business entity or employer shall knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the state of Missouri. The successful bidder must submit a sworn affidavit and documentation affirming the business entity's enrollment and participation in the federal work authorization program and that all of its employees working for the contracted services are not illegal immigrants. Upon signing the contract, the successful contractor and any subcontractor performing the work shall provide a ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. The City of Pevely, Missouri hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award.
