Description | In general the work consists of: HVAC work to support remodeling of existing lab space at the facility. General construction (carpentry, drywall, doors, paint, ceiling tile), electrical, plumbing, flooring, and furniture associated with the project will be by Owner. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements. In awarding construction contracts, the Department of Administration shall attempt to ensure that 5 percent of the total amount expended in each fiscal year is awarded to contractors which are minority businesses, as defined under Wis. Stat. s. 16.75(3m)(a); and shall attempt to ensure that at least 1 percent of the total amount expended each fiscal year is awarded to contractors that are disabled veteran-owned businesses A bid bond prepared on the Bid Bond Form bound herein, payable to the State in the amount not less than 10% of the maximum bid shall accompany each bid as a guarantee. A bank certified check or a cashier's check may accompany each bid as a guarantee pursuant to Wis. Stat. s. 779.14(1m)(c)2.b. and 779.14(1s). Failure to enter into the contract with the state (including failure to obtain certificate of insurance and separate 100% performance and 100% payment bonds) may result in forfeiture of the Bid Bond.
