Description | This project includes the installation of new dewatering centrifuges, sludge piping, valves, fittings, polymer storage and dosing, electrical upgrades required for new equipment and demolition of existing dewatering centrifuge equipment, piping, valves, fittings, polymer storage and dosing, and electrical. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions. Payment represents reproduction cost and is non-refundable. An electronic set of plans may be obtained free of charge by contacting the Engineer. No plans or specifications will be issued within 48 hours prior to the time set to receive bids. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope bearing on the outside the name of the bidder, his/her address, and the name of the project for which the bid is submitted. If sent by mail, the sealed envelope containing the bid must be enclosed in another envelope addressed as stated above. All blank spaces for bid prices must be filled in, in ink or typewritten, and in both words and figures. Bids received more than ninety-six (96) hours, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, before the time set for opening the bids, as well as bids received after the time set for receipt of bids, WILL NOT be considered and will be RETURNED UNOPENED. A cashier's check, a certified check, or a surety bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid shall accompany the sealed proposal of each bidder. Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful bidders. Each bid submitted is a legal offer and when accepted by the NUA, constitutes a FIRM AND BINDING CONTRACT. The OWNER reserves the right to REJECT ANY or ALL BIDS. The OWNER further reserves the unconditional right to cancel all or any portion of this project within sixty (60) days from the date of opening of bids, for any reason and at its sole discretion. The Norman Utilities Authority (NUA) is exempt from the payment of any sales or use taxes. Pursuant to Title 68 O.S., Section 1356 (10) and as allowed by Oklahoma Tax Commission Rules Part 27 Trust Authority 710:65-13-140, direct vendors to the NUA are also exempt from those taxes. A bidder and his subcontractors may exclude from their bid sales taxes on appropriate equipment, materials, and supplies incorporated into the project and purchased by the NUA through the bidder.
