DESCRIPTION OF WORK: GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: The Contractor shall furnish labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision to accomplish the work as described in the contract documents for project number 561A4-20-105 Install Lab Hood in accordance with the statement of work (SOW), specifications, and drawings. Cost Range: $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 Project Number 561A4-20-105 Install Lab Hood Building 1 Bids providing less than 120 Calendar Days of Government Acceptance after the date bids are due will not be considered and will be rejected. The bidder agrees to perform the work required at the prices specified below in strict accordance with the terms of the solicitation if this bid is accepted by the Government in writing within 120 calendar days after the date bidders are due. The work shall be performed in compliance with the specifications, drawings, as well as the contract terms and conditions. The place of performance is Department of Veterans Affairs, VA New Jersey Healthcare System, Lyons Campus, 151 Knollcroft Road, Lyons, New Jersey 07939. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials to perform work for VA Project 561A4-20-105 Install Lab Hood Building 1 as required and defined by the Architecture and Engineering (AE) drawings and the specifications. ITEM I, Install Lab Hood Building 1: General Construction, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler and all other trades in contract documents Construction Timeframe: Contractor shall commence work immediately of receiving the Notice to Proceed. Period of Performance is 240 days from the receipt of Notice to Proceed. This requirement is necessary to correct existing substandard equipment to include the replacement of fume hood and related HVAC Equipment. 1.Scope: Furnish professional construction services for replacement of existing fume hood and related HVAC Equipment in Building 1 lab at the VA NJ Health Care System, Lyons, NJ. and items show on drawings provided 2. Performance Monitoring (if applicable). The designated COR will monitor the contract performance and make sure the contractor adheres to VA standards and designated project milestones as well as provide all necessary support required to complete the subject design. 3. Security Requirements. The contractor employees shall not have access to VA sensitive or computer information. The contactor / A/E will be required to undergo a background investigation and will be issued a government PIV flash badge. This procedure is conducted by the C.O.R. and PIV staff. The designated COR will certify the work done under the contract shall be performed to time and standard. Designated COR is also responsible to assure the inspection and acceptance of products provided incidental to services. 4.
