| Description | Leon County is seeking the services of a qualified contractor to re-roof the Leon County Detention Center for Pods K/C, L/D and Additive of Core in accordance with Attachment A – Specification Plan and Attachment B – Construction Plans. The work includes but is not limited to: Roofs ‘A’ – Pod K/C and Pod L/D The work includes removal of the existing gravel surfaced built up roofing and flashing membrane over the existing insulating lightweight concrete (LWC). Install a nailed base sheet over the cleaned LWC to meet FBC wind uplift requirements. Torch or cold apply a ‘hybrid’ modified bitumen membrane down to the nailed base sheet and fully adhere an 80 mil PBC single ply roofing and flashing system, to provide a roofing manufacturer’s standard 20-year NDL warranty. The work shall also include new roof drains and cleaning priming and painting previously painted rooftop equipment and supports and reinstall/recertify the lighting protection system. The work also includes removing the existing through wall flashing and adjoining masonry at the wall bases of each roof in the scope of work. New through wall flashing in the existing block masonry veneer wall base and cavity above the low slope roof by cutting out 3-4 lineal feet of block veneer approximately two courses in height over the existing counterflashing to allow access and install a new asphalt coated copper through wall flashing, progressing the length of the wall. Also includes re-installing blocks and mortar to match existing. Pressure washing and clear water-repellent application on the repaired/replaced wall service. Additive #1 The work includes installing new prefabricated, prefinished aluminum parapet coping with sealed joints in lieu of salvaging, cleaning and reinstalling the existing metal coping. Additive #2 The Contractor to provide cost to include; roof replacement of Central Core Roof (Roof ‘B’) as described in the base bid scope of work. Includes installing new prefabricated, refinished aluminum parapet coping with sealed joints. | ||
