Description | This project involves the installation of approximately 20,600 linear feet of 5-ft wide (different widths in some sections), 4 inch thick sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, and driveways along Decker Rd, W. Baker Dr., Lee Dr., W. Main, and W. Cedar Bayou Lynchburg as shown on the plans. The width of the sidewalk will vary in some sections due to site constraints. Sidewalk grades and driveways shall be in compliance with ADA requirements, the City of Baytown standard detail sheets and specifications. The sidewalk will also involve the modification of storm inlets to allow a path for the sidewalk. Bid Security and Bonds: Bid Security in the form of Cashier's Check, Certified Check, or Bid Bond payable to the City of Baytown in the amount of 5% of the total base bid price must accompany each proposal. Bidders submitting bid electronically through the E-bid System shall scan and up-load a copy of the sealed Bid Bond as an attachment to their bid. Original documents for Bid Security shall be requested by the City from the lowest two bidders and delivered to the City's Purchasing Officer within 48 business hours of the Bid Opening. Bid Security shall be delivered to: Office of City Purchasing, Department, 2401 Market Street, Baytown, Texas 77520. The City of Baytown reserves the right to reject any or all bids. BID ADVERTISMENT CLAUSE It is the policy of the U.S. Department of Transportation that Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, as defined in 49 CFR Part 26, shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts financed in whole or in part with federal funds. Consequently, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements of 49 CFR Part 26 applies to this project. DBE financial institutions are especially encouraged to participate. The DBE goal for the proposed contract is 11 % (eleven percent). |
