Description

The project consists of: Mobilization, Traffic Control, Excavation and Embankment, replacement of a reinforced concrete box, replacement of corrugated galvanized metal pipes, sodding, replacement of sidewalk and curb and gutter and striping, along with other miscellaneous appurtenances. Each proposal shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of Proposal Guaranty in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of Proposal, as guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the Bidder will execute the Contract and furnish the acceptable Performance Bond, Statutory Bond, Maintenance Bond, Owners Protective Liability Policy, Defect Bond and Certificates of Insurance within fifteen (15) days after the award of the contract. Each Proposal shall be accompanied by a Certified check of bid bond acceptable to the Owner, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Proposal, payable without condition to the Owner as a guaranty that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute the Agreement in accordance with the Proposal and the other Contract Documents, and will furnish good and sufficient bond for the faithful performance of the same, and for the payment to all persons supplying labor and material for the work. The Proposal Guaranties of all Bidders except the three (3) lowest, will be returned promptly after the canvass of Proposals. The successful Bidder, simultaneously with the execution of the Contract, will be required to furnish a faithful Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount, and a Labor and Material Payment Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount, Maintenance Bond equal to fifteen percent (15%); Bonds shall be secured from surety company satisfactory to the Owner. The forms of the Bonds the successful Bidder will be required to execute are included in the Contract Documents. The time allowed for completion of this project is 60 working days. Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project within the allotted time or authorized extensions thereof, shall be $350.00 per working day. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the bidding, for the benefit of the Owner.
