Description | This Project Generally Involves The Removal And Replacement / Modernization Of Two (2) Existing Transportation Grade Escalators Located In The Terminal A Baggage Claim Of The San Jose International Airport. Submit questions via Biddingo no later than June 1, 2023 at 3:00 pm. The City will not respond to any communication or question submitted directly to City staff or City consultants. Each Bid Must Be Accompanied By Cash, A Certified Check, A Cashier Check Or A Bidder Bond In The Sum Of Not Less Than 10% The Total Aggregate Amount Of The Bid. Checks Shall Be Made Payable To The Order Of The City Of San José. Bonds Shall Be Executed By A Surety Possessing A Valid Certificate Of Authority Issued By The California Department Of Insurance And Shall Name The City Of San José As Beneficiary. All Bids Must Be Addressed To The Director Of Public Works, City Of San José, Shall Bear The Project Number And Name And Be In A Sealed Envelope. This Project Is A public Works As Defined In Sections 1720 Through 1720.6 Of The California Labor Code. In Accordance With Chapter 14.09 Of The San José Municipal Code Entitled Prevailing Wage Requirements For City Contracts Involving Public Works, The Contractor Will Be Required To Comply With The Prevailing Wage Provisions In California Labor Code Sections 1720 Through 1861, And The City Office Of Equality Assurance Is Authorized To Provide Certain Local Enforcement Of Those Provisions. As Such, The Contractor Will Need To Pay Not Less Than The General Prevailing Rate Of Per Diem Wages And The General Prevailing Rates For Holiday And Overtime Work. Bidders Must Have A California Contractor License, Classification A Or C-11 To Bid This Project. NOTE: For This Project The City Is Requiring That The Contractor Performing All Or Part Of Any Of The Following Work Must Have The Following Specialty Licenses: A) C-11 Specialty License For Removing, Installing, Or Constructing An Escalator System, Or Any Part Thereof, For Conveyance Of The General Public. If The Bidder Intends To Self-perform Any Of This Work, It Must Have A C-11 License. Otherwise, The Bidder Must Identify On The Subcontractor Listing Form A Subcontractor With C-11 License To Perform The Work. B) C-10 Specialty License For Placing, Installing, Erecting Or Connecting Any Electrical Wires, Fixtures, Appliances, Apparatus, Conduits, Or Any Part Thereof, Which Generate, Transmit, Transform Or Utilize Electrical Energy In Any Form Or For Any Purpose. If The Bidder Intends To Self-perform Any Of This Work, It Must Have A C-10 License. Otherwise, The Bidder Must Identify On The Subcontractor Listing Form A Subcontractor With C-10 License To Perform The Work. Bidder Attention Is Directed To Those Provisions Of The Specifications Which Require The Contractor To Whom The Contract For The Work Is Awarded, To File With The City Clerk At The Time The Contract Is Executed, A Contractor Payment Bond And A Bond For Faithful Performance Meeting All The Requirements Of The Specifications And Approved By The City Attorney Of The City Of San José. Bonds Shall Be Executed By A Surety Possessing A Valid Certificate Of Authority Issued By The California Department Of Insurance And Shall Name The City Of San José As Beneficiary. The Contractor Faithful Performance Bond Shall Be For 100% Of The Contract Amount. The Contractor Payment Bond Shall Be For 100% Of The Contract Amount. Goals For Minority Participation For Each Trade: 19.6% Goals For Female Participation In Each Trade: 6.9% |
