Description

To provide the Housing Department (Department) with information to help manage and control lead-based paint and other environmental hazards commonly encountered in residential repair activities (such as mold and asbestos) efficiently and effectively during rehabilitation activities. The majority of services will be lead paint testing and clearance activities to assure compliance safe practice local, state, and federal requirements. The purposes of the lead paint and environmental hazard assessments are, To identify conditions that may result in adverse human health effects from the following sources: deteriorated lead-based paint (LBP), interior dust-lead hazards, soil lead hazards, chewable surfaces, friction surfaces, and impact surfaces. identify and test possible asbestos containing materials (ACM) as defined by HUD and EPA and, To test paint on surfaces that may be disturbed during the renovation or new construction. Identify and test mold, fungus and indoor air quality (IAQ) hazards. Identify and test possible asbestos containing materials (ACM) as defined by HUD and EPA and, Provide containment and/or remediation recommendations and monitoring services when requested.
