Traffic Calming Improvements on Franklin Avenue

SCOPE OF WORK The work under this contract consists of the implementation of traffic calming measures through the installation of speed humps, installation/resetting of traffic signage, installation of thermoplastic markings, reconstructing sidewalks, and resetting curb lines. These associated traffic improvements will help to improve the functionality, capacity, and safety for all users on Franklin Avenue. The work under this contract consists of the surface rehabilitation through the process of milling, paving, installation of thermoplastic markings, reconstructing concrete sidewalks with necessary curb line adjustments. This surface reconstruction will support the public, providing an adequate and safe surface for traversing vehicles and pedestrians. All work under this contract shall be done in conformance with the Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges dated 2021, the 2017 Construction Standard Details, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments and the Standard Municipal Traffic Code; and these Special Provisions.
