Description | **As of June 21, 2023, bids were rejected. No definite date for the rebid.** All inquiries and requests for clarifications regarding the Contract Documents shall be submitted in the space provided for Questions and Answers (Q & A) in Bid Express no later than 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 The work under this Invitation for Bids generally consists of, but is not limited to, the conversion of freight elevator 40 to a passenger/freight elevator at Newark Penn Station. All firms must be prequalified by NJ TRANSIT prior to submitting a Bid. Bidders must be prequalified for "BR" - Building Rail - Operating Railroad Environment as a "GC" (General Contractors) for an amount of work that is equal to or greater than their bid amount. NJ TRANSIT requires a minimum rating of "H" ($750,001 to $1,000,000). *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Contractors are advised that a NJ TRANSIT escort is necessary while present on non-public areas of NJ TRANSIT property. Contractors must bring and wear their own safety apparatus including hard hats, reflective vests and hard toed shoes/boots in order to go on the site visit. Unauthorized/unescorted entry onto the railroad right-of-way is strictly prohibited. Bidders are advised that attendance at both the pre-bid conference and site visit is strongly recommended. Contractors and subcontractors are also required to comply with the State of New Jersey, Division of Revenue Business Registration Certificate requirements (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44). Contractors or Subcontractors shall not engage in the performance of any work, unless the Contractor or Subcontractor is registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Department of Treasury Division of Revenue, as required. In addition, Source Disclosure Requirements (N.J.S.A. 52:34-13.2) apply to this project. This project is subject to the requirements of the Public Works Contractor Registration Act (N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq.). Contractors and subcontractors must also comply with the State of New Jersey, Division of Revenue, Business Registration Certificate requirements (N.J.S.A. 52:32-44.). Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, regarding Equal Employment Opportunity Laws and Regulations. NJ TRANSIT further requires that its Contractors shall agree to take all necessary and responsible steps in accordance with N.J.A.C. 17:14-1.1 et seq. to ensure that Small Business Enterprises (SBE) have the opportunity to participate in the performance of this contract. An eight percent (8%) Category 6 SBE goal has been set for this project. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 27:25-11 and N.J.A.C. 16:72-2.2 Bidders are notified that a bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid price is required with their Bids. |
