Description

Smith Manor Exterior Lighting Modernization. Bid request to replace existing exterior lighting with LED. This project proposes to replace and/or retrofit exterior lighting fixtures at Smith Manor, a senior disabled housing located at 600 N. Van Buren Street in Bay City. Smith Manor is owned and operated by the Bay City Housing Commission. A single contract will be issued for this project. Scope of work will be to replace the existing metal halide, high pressure sodium and florescent lamps with new LED in a variety of applications: replacement of pole mounted lighting fixtures; wall packs, surface mounted fixtures, recessed canopy fixtures, surface sign lamps. All 18'tall light poles will be reused, only the lamp fixtures will be replaced. One small 10' area light will receive a replacement pole and LED light fixture. One flood light needs conversion from metal halite to LED. Replace ten (10) wall package light fixtures (one has been replaced; another will be removed and not replaced). Ten (10) surface-mounted canopy fixtures will be replace with intergraded LED fixture. Replace two T5HO sign fixtures with new LED fixtures. Four (4) recessed canopy metal halide will be retro fitted with LED lamps. We have Alternated Bid pricing request to retain two different fixtures and covert them to LED lamps instead of replacing the fixture. Other Requirements 1. Existing Conditions: Field verify as necessary by contractor prior to ordering materials including existing exterior wiring to the fixtures. 2. Shop Drawings: Furnish one copy of shop drawings of products and materials approval prior to ordering. 3. All work on this project shall be in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local codes and regulations having jurisdiction over this project. Bids shall include all state and local permits, fees and taxes. Base bid shall include all labor and materials as needed and disposal. 4. All work shall be performed during regular business hours Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding official Housing Commission holidays, unless other arrangements are made in advance with owner. Contractor shall protect all occupied areas from damage and be certain the building and property shall be clean and free of debris at the end of the workday. Contractor shall replace, at their expense, any material damaged during removal or storage of equipment.
