A timeline for award has not yet been established.** From qualified licensed general and mechanical contractors for the purchase and replacement of Air Handling Units 3.1, 3.10 & 3.13 specified in Moses Engineering Drawings No. T 1 ME3.1 and located at Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, 1 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 Submit to the following: Audubon Commission c/o Audubon Nature Institute - Administrative Building at Audubon Zoo Attn: Cecilie Halliwill 6500 Magazine Street New Orleans, LA 70118 Bids received after the day and time specified above will be rejected by the Audubon Commission as nonresponsive and returned to the bidder unopened. All questions regarding this invitation shall be addressed in writing, (7) seven working days prior to bid opening excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Bid packages shall be available the first date of advertisement. Bonds shall be written by a surety or insurance company currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service list of approved bonding companies, or by a Louisiana domiciled insurance company with at least an A- rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policyholders surplus as shown in the A.M. Bests Key Rating Guide, or by an insurance company that is either domiciled in Louisiana or owned by Louisiana Residents and is licensed to write surety bonds. The construction period is 150 calendar days. The construction period begins when a notice to proceed is issued after the contract is signed; the Liquidated Damages are one thousand ($1000.00) dollars per day. Contractor Licensing, the State of Louisiana public bid laws, LA Revised Statutes Sections 37 and 38, apply to the award of this Contract. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed, under the laws of the State of Louisiana, for the classification of Building Construction or Mechanical License. This procurement is undertaken pursuant to LRS 38:2212 et seq, The provisions of these statues shall govern and control all procurement hereunder notwithstanding any provisions herein to the contrary. The Contractor shall begin procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Diverse Contractors are encouraged to submit bids. |
