Description | ACNH-P050(152)E Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove existing Caltrans right of way (R/W) fence and replace with 8-foot-tall wire mesh fence along United States (U.S.) Highway 50 in El Dorado County. Refer to the Proposed Form of Agreement, Exhibit A, which is attached to this IFB as Attachment 11 for a more complete description of services. Proposed Award Date (estimate) 5/9/23 Written Question Submittal 4/13/23 2:00 p.m. Questions must be sent to one of the following: Email: Phuong.Vu@dot.ca.gov Or mail to: California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Division of Procurement and Contracts Attention: Phuong Vu 1727 30th Street, MS 65 Sacramento, CA 95816 Contractor agrees to provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, materials, supplies, equipment, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove existing Caltrans right of way (R/W) fence and replace with 8-foot-tall wire mesh fence along United States (U.S.) Highway 50 in El Dorado County as described herein. A. Contractor shall remove approximately 1,820 linear feet of existing Caltrans R/W fence, including fence posts and other devices, on eastbound and westbound U.S. Highway 50 between post miles 22.6 to 22.8 in El Dorado County, and replace with approximately 1,980 linear feet of 8-foot-tall wire mesh fence. The locations and construction details are shown in the attached plans and all work is to be performed according to attached plans. B. Contractor shall install 12-foot-tall by 2 3/8-inch diameter galvanized steel line posts at a maximum of 10-feet on center into concrete footings to support the new wire mesh fence as shown in attached plans. Brace posts assemblies shall be installed at 400-foot intervals or when vertical alignment changes over 3 feet as shown in attached plans. All metal posts must contain metal post caps. C. Contractor shall embed galvanized steel line posts a minimum of 2 feet 6 inches into 8- inch diameter by 3-foot-deep concrete footings as shown in attached plans. Concrete footing must be hardened to manufactures recommendation prior to attachment of wire mesh fencing. D. Contractor shall comply with applicable provisions of Section 80 Fences of the 2022 Standard Specifications and any other applicable Standard Specifications referenced in that section. E. Contractor shall install 4 (four) 12-foot-tall by 2 3/8-inch diameter galvanized steel posts into concrete footings adjacent to wildlife crossing for camera installation as shown in attached plans. F. Contractor shall remove all vegetation and trees within the Caltrans R/W as needed to complete the installation of the fence subject to this Agreement. Vegetation and tree removal shall be limited to the minimum amount necessary to facilitate fence installation. No trees or shrubs shall be removed from private property. G. Contractor shall purchase 1,650 linear feet of 8-foot-tall wire mesh fencing (Type WM, as shown on C-4 in attached plans) to be set aside for Caltrans maintenance use. Material handoff shall be coordinated by Caltrans Contract Manager. H. Contractor shall comply with Section 14-6.03B Bird Protection of the 2022 Standard Specifications. Contractor shall notify Caltrans Contract Manager a minimum of 30 days prior to anticipated start of vegetation/tree removal. I. Contractor shall investigate and verify the existence and location of underground utilities and other construction before beginning work. Any damage caused by Contractor to the utilities or property during the project duration shall be replaced at Contractor's sole expense and to the satisfaction of Caltrans Contract Manager. |
