Commerce Service Center - Roof Replacement

One original and three copies of the Request for Proposals must be submitted. A 5% bid bond must be submitted with the bid. Performance and payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required if the contract is awarded. Jackson County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any technicalities or irregularities, and to award the bid based on the highest and best interest of Jackson County. The work will include, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Remove the existing roof systems down to the existing sloped metal deck. (a) Abate the existing asbestos containing material found in the silver paint layers of the roof system. Refer to the Asbestos Report. (b) Existing plywood slope on front (east) elevation to remain. Repair as required. Refer to Unit Prices and Allowances for repairs. 2. Prepare the existing roof decks as required by the manufacturer. Refer to Unit Prices and Allowances for repairs. (a) Remove any abandoned openings in the roof system and patch openings in the deck. 3. Remove all existing flashings, metal flashings, and additional miscellaneous items. 4. Remove existing gutters and downspouts, and discard. 5. Furnish and install new wood blocking as shown on drawings, including but not limited to: (a) Gutter eaves (b) Top of parapets (c) Roof area transitions
