Description

Contractor shall provide well drilling, installation, sampling services, aquifer/pump testing services, maintenance, well repair/rehabilitation, pump removal/repair, color calibrated well video logging, general well operations/maintenance, aquifer assessment, and well abandonment services in the Tucson area. Work performed under this contract will be on an as needed/if needed basis. The specifications for individual projects will be generated based on site specific conditions in a request for bid (RFB). Groundwater extraction and production wells Installed for the City of Tucson generally range from five hundred (500) to twelve hundred (1200) feet deep but specific depths will depend on the site. The well construction materials may include stainless steel, low carbon steel and/or schedule 80 PVC. Tucson Water may elect to purchase the casing directly from the manufacturer or may request the Contractor purchase the casing. The regional groundwater table in the Tucson area varies greatly and can be encountered at depths ranging from approximately 75 to over 600 feet below surface grade. The type of soils beneath the sites includes gravels, sands, silts and clays. Logs are available upon request at the City of Tucson, Tucson Water.
