Description | **As of April 13, 2023, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet.** Huntsville City Board of Education is seeking sealed bids for replacement of the HVAC system at the Huntsville Junior High School in Huntsville, Alabama. The HVAC replacement is located in an existing school building, two-story, approximately 95,000 square feet. The scope includes replacement of rooftop outside air units, building automation system, boiler, chiller (owner provided), fan coils, related chilled / hot piping and electriHUNTSVILLE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL HVAC REPLACEMENTcal connections, roof structure reinforcement, roof patching, and interior finishes patching. The project is located at 814 Adams Street, SE in Huntsville, Alabama Pre-Qualification: Only contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid the Project. All potential bidders shall contact the Architect to request pre-qualification procedures and criteria. Email requests to srambo@chapmansisson.com. General Contractors and the following subcontractors are required to be pre-qualified: The contractor or subcontractor submitting for pre-qualification should only submit for their primary trade of work. Roofing Subcontractor, Mechanical Subcontractor, and Electrical Subcontractor. Only subcontractors for these disciplines, who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner, will be eligible to bid the Project. A list of qualified contractors and subcontractors will be available on December 22, 2022. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Huntsville City Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The project shall be bid excluding taxes, pursuant with Act 2013-205. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. Nonresident bidders must accompany any written bid documents with a written opinion of an attorney at law licensed to practice law in such nonresident bidder's state of domicile, as to the preferences, if any or none, granted by the law of that state to its own business entities whose principal places of business are in that state in the letting of any or all public contracts. Substantial Completion: 400 Calendar Days after Notice to Proceed. |
