Description Vendor to design, furnish, erect and dismantle scaffolding system for stable working access to the specific areas on both sides of the culvert for concrete formwork and stone masonry. The proposed scaffold system should conform to the following requirements, guidelines and standards: • Conform to the horizontal contour/curvature of the existing spandrel walls. • Scaffolding to be installed/erected to accommodate all changes in vertical topography. • Scaffolding posts and/or end bucks to be set on base plates and/or adequate sills or pads to prevent slipping and sinking. • Provide a 2’-0 wide continuous walkway/working platform capable of supporting a minimum 50 lb./S.F. The walkway/working platform should be unobstructed and free of any interference (e.g. end bucks) by means of cantilever frames or outriggers. Platform height to be set at 1’-0 +/- below top of the existing culvert walls. • Provide a 5’-0 wide continuous material staging platform capable of supporting a minimum of 75 lb./S.F. at a vertical height between 2’-6” to 3’-0 above the height of the working platform. Scaffolding system to be compliant with all OSHA codes and standards and all state and local code requirements. • Erection and dismantling of the scaffolding system to follow the ‘Code of Safe Practices’ developed by the Scaffolding, Shoring and Forming Institute (SSFI) and the Scaffolding Industry Association, Inc. (SIA) • Vendor to provide a competent person for periodic (minimum once per month or as may be required) inspections of the scaffolding system for the duration of the rental period. These periodic inspections are intended to identify any settlement/instability of the system and any missing/damaged system components that may adversely affect the integrity of the system and/or jeopardize the safety of the workers utilizing the system. • Vendor to provide price to furnish, erect and dismantle (FED) the scaffolding system for an initial period of 28 calendar days. • Vendor will provide separate pricing for the rental of the scaffolding system for additional 28 day intervals or part there of after the initial FED period (28 days) ends. • Vendor to provide all necessary insurances as indicated on attachment OS-52.
