Description | The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals as required by the Specifications and Contract Documents. The general items of work includes the rehabilitation of an estimated 8,399 feet of existing 8-inch to 27-inch wastewater pipelines with cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining or spiral wound PVC liner, including installation of temporary sewage bypass pumps and sewage bypass piping system (above ground and/or buried), safety measures, traffic control, and all appurtenant work. other works includes the rehabilitation of 39 maintenance access holes with polyurethane lining, including maintenance holes steps removal per specifications. Bidders should be aware that uploading of the bid and associated documents may take some time, and bidders are responsible to ensure that their bid and all supporting documentation are submitted and completed prior to the deadline. Bids shall be valid for sixty (60) calendar days after the bid opening date. Bids must be submitted on the City's Bid Forms. The Project is located in public right-of-way, in sewer easements that are located on private property, Ventura County Watershed Protection District (VCWPD), Conejo Open Space Agency (COSCA) and Conejo Recreation Park District (CRPD). Coordination with property owners, City and Public Agencies will be required Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond on the form included in the Contract Documents, cash, or a certified or cashier's check in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price. Special arrangements must be made by prospective bidders, in advance, should a bid be accompanied by cash, certified check or cashier's check by contacting the City Clerk Department at (805) 449-2151 no less than seven (7) days in advance of bid submission deadline The successful bidder will be required to furnish the City with requisite insurance and Payment and Performance Bonds on the forms included in the contract documents equal to 100% of the Contract Price. The successful bidder will be required to complete all work within 180 calendar days from the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. There is an intermediate completion milestone that contractor is required to comply with according to the contract documents (See "Summary of Work" Section 01 11 00, Subsection 1.14 Allowable Schedule of Work Items). In accordance with Government Code section 53069.85, City will be compensated for damages incurred due to delays for which the Contractor is responsible. The parties agree that determining City's exact delay damages is and will continue to be impracticable and extremely difficult. As such, for each calendar day in excess of the time agreed upon for completion of the work, that is 180 calendar days for the overall project, and also the intermediate completion milestone (as specified in "Summary of Work" Section 01 11 00, Subsection 1.14 Allowable Schedule of Work Items), the Contractor shall pay to the City $1,250.00 per day, as liquidated damages and not as a penalty or forfeiture. Such amount shall constitute the only payment allowed for damages resulting from Contractor caused delays. The City shall have the right to deduct the amount of liquidated damages from any money due or that may become due under the Contract. The City shall award the Contract for the Work to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined from the BASE BID ALONE by the City. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding process. Completion-240 calendar days |
