Description | Farrell Field Tennis Court Improvements The bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cash, or bid bond in an amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00. If the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, he will, within twenty one (21) days after the date of the Notice of Award, execute such Contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the Bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. The bid must be accompanied by a Certificate from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey, guaranteeing that if the Proposal of the Bidder is accepted, they will furnish a Performance Bond in the face amount of the bid and the acceptance of the bid is contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. All required surety bonds must be written by a surety company listed on the Federal Treasury List (Department Circular 570 - Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds). The Township of South Orange Village reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid received, and to reject any and/or all bids as in its judgement may best serve the interest of the Village. The Village shall have a maximum of sixty (60) days from the receipt of bids to either accept or reject them. The Township of South Orange Village reserves the right to delete sections of the work from the Contract after the award of the bid has been made due to funding or other reasons. The prices bid for the various items of work shall not be adjusted due to the deflection of any work or due to the variation of any quantity for the various items scheduled in the Proposal. No interpretations of the meaning of the Contract Documents will be made orally by the Engineer to any prospective bidder. Notice of revisions or addenda to advertisement or bid documents relating to bids shall be sent no later than seven (7) days, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays excepted, prior to the date for acceptance of bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23 Question Deadline 04/12/2023 The work to be performed under this contract includes the following: The work described herein and to be performed in accordance with the requirements of the plans and these specifications consist of the demolition and excavation of existing tennis court, construction of a new tennis and pickleball court with either Post-Tensioned Concrete Court or asphalt surface (depending on bid results), removal and replacement of chain Link Fence, asphalt walkway, and other incidental items. The contractor will do all the work and furnish all the labor, materials, equipment, and supervision which are necessary for the proper and final completion of the Contract in the manner and under the conditions herein specified. Principal items of work in the project include: Base Bid: o 500 CY Excavation o 450 LF Remove and Replace 10' High Chain Link Fence o 1,500 SY Tennis and Pickleball Court Surface Paint Including Striping and Line Painting Alternate A o 275 Tons 2" Hot Mixed Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course o 400 Tons 3" Hot Mixed Asphalt 19M64 Base Course Alternate B o 13,000 SF Post-Tensioned Concrete Court The location, general character and important details are shown on the contract plans and specifications. Unless otherwise specifically noted, all work is to be in compliance with the New Jersey Department of Transportation, 2019 Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, as amended. Prior to the start of construction, the contractor shall submit a schedule to the Engineer for approval. The schedule shall indicate the sequence, starting and completion date for the work. All work is to be inspected, by a representative of the Engineer. Quantity tickets will be collected by a representative of the Engineer, at the time of delivery of the specific load only. No tickets will be accepted, for any quantities of materials at any other time. Volume items will be measured within the prescribed pay limits indicated on the Contract Drawings. When the work has been substantially completed, the Engineer shall make a final inspection of the work and determine the acceptability and completeness of the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for the construction stakeout/layout. The construction stakeout/layout shall be performed by a qualified New Jersey licensed professional land surveyor. |
