Description

The Project consists of the following scope items: Removal of existing and installation of new windows, including abatement of caulk throughout building Select replacement or repair of window lintels Building waterproofing along parking lots. This process shall be conducted in accordance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A: 18A-1 et. seq. Please note that the only opportunity for prospective bidders to access or photograph the site or enter the existing school will be at the mandatory pre-bid meetings. Bidders are cautioned to review all Instructions and Contract Documents with respect to scheduling requirements and obligations. The project will be bid and constructed as a Single Prime Lump Sum Contract with Add Alternate options to be added at Owners discretion. Bidders must submit one Bid Bond in an amount equal to 10% of the proposed Contract Price for the work to be performed at 43 Alexander Street, but not to exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) per N.J.S.A 18A:18A-24. Bid proposals for the above work will be received from bidders registered with the Division of Revenue and Department of Labor, and classified by the Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC): General Contractors with a DPMC Classification of C006, C008 or C009, or; Window Contractors with a DPMC Classification of C012. Other Special Categories may be required and as set forth in the Request for Proposals. Bidders are cautioned that reliance on the mail delivery or courier service for timely delivery of proposals is at the bidder's risk, and any bid proposal received after the above date and time will be returned unopened. Bidders should note that the purpose of the Pre-Bid Conference is only to see the site. These will be the only opportunities provided to bidders for site access prior to the bid submission date. Bidders are encouraged to bring their teams to Pre-Bid Conferences. After the Pre-Bid Conference is held, the list of attendees will be made available in an addendum. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 (P.L. 1975, c. 127) and N.J.A.C. :27-1 et seq., pertaining to affirmative action and equal employment opportunity. North Star Academy Charter School of Newark reserves the rights to cancel this procurement, reject any and all bids, and waive technical defects in documents submitted in response to this Request for Proposals.
