Description SENIOR MINOR HOME REPAIR--The program addresses home repair needs for senior residents of New Castle County outside the city limits of Wilmington and Newark. Repairs or upgrades to the homes will include: -Minor carpentry – repairing or replacing doors and windows, (and frames), patching walls, ceilings, and roofs (Section I) -Minor plumbing repairs, replacing faucets, fixing small leaks, or drips (Section II) -Minor electrical repairs, or replacing switches and plugs (Section III) -Installing smoke detectors, fire extinguisher(s), and lock(s) (Section IV) -Incidental repairs and painting of improvements only (Section V) ARCHITECTURAL ACCESSIBILITY--The program addresses structural modifications that focus on the health, safety, and security conditions of the home for homeowners who are faced with issues falling under the purview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Repairs or upgrades to the homes will include: Installation of grab bars, comfort height toilet, handrails, tub to shower conversion, access ramps, stair lifts, and repairing or replacing doors in order to accommodate individual mobility.
