Description | The "NJDCA Small Cities Public Facilities Grant East Pitman Storm Sewer Infrastructure Improvements" consists of the improvements to E. Pitman Street, from Broad Street to Barber Avenue. The work for this project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following major work items: 1. Excavation of existing asphalt roadway to a depth of 9". 2. Installation of 15" Reinforced Concrete Pipe where indicated on plans. 3. Reconstruction of roadway with Dense Graded Aggregate, 4" thick, Hot Mix Asphalt 19M64 Base Course, 3" thick, and Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course, 2" thick. 4. Installation of Concrete Curb and Gutter, where indicated. 5. Reconstruction of storm sewer inlets, and installation of new storm sewer inlets, Type 'B' as shown on the plans. 6. Installation of Concrete Sidewalk, 4" thick and ADA compliant curb ramps, where indicated. 7. Installation of Concrete Driveway, 6" thick, where indicated. 8. Replacement of Regulatory and Warning signs, where indicated. 9. Topsoil, fertilizer, and seed will be placed at all disturbed areas. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary moneys to do the work being provided by the Borough of Penn Grove in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Borough of Penn Grove in a lawful manner. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Borough of Penn's Grove in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. The Borough of Penn Grove reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the Borough of Penn Grove, in accordance with applicable law. |
