Description

1. Construct approximately 625 feet of hiking trail along route as flagged from top of slope at ADA seating/landing area to the bridge that is downhill at the garden entrance 2. Finished trail width – approximately 4’ wide; roughed in trail width can be 6’ 3. Construct trail with slight inslope (approx. 2-3%) so that trail use does not shed surfacing or accelerate erosion. Back slope and down slope should be constructed to remain less than 45% 4. Surface trail to 4’ width with 3/4”minus material to a depth of 3”. 5. Install stone stairs in switchbacks to achieve sustainable grade transition – approx. 2-4 steps depending upon grade of trail segment.
