Description | The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and incidentals as required by the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents for the above stated project. The general items of work to be done hereunder consist of approximately 485 linear feet of varying size RCP storm drain pipe along with lateral pipes, manholes, and catch basins. The storm drain will be located within California Avenue and will be connected to the MDP Line N-1 storm drain. The project also includes street improvements on California Ave including curb and gutter, driveways, and asphalt work. There are 60 working days allowed to complete this project, including any and all alternatives. Liquidated damages shall be assessed at $500.00 per working day. Any Contract entered into pursuant to this notice will incorporate the provisions of the State Labor Code. Compliance with the prevailing rates of wages, apprenticeship employment standards, and Contractor registration program established by the State Director of Industrial Relations will be required. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion will be also required. The Contract Documents call for monthly progress payments based upon the engineers estimate of the items of work completed. The AGENCY will retain 5 percent of each progress payment as security for completion of the balance of the work. At the request and expense of the successful Bidder, the City of Norco will pay the amounts so retained upon compliance with the requirements of Government Code Section 4590 and the provisions of the Contract Documents pertaining to Substitution of Securities. For each consecutive working day in excess of the time specified, as adjusted in accordance with Subsection 6-6, for completion of the work the Contractor shall pay to the Agency, or have withheld from monies due it, the sum of $500.00. |
