Description

Plumbing (penal fixtures based on Willoughby): a. Demo the two existing water heaters in the basement of the courthouse and install new identical heaters. b. Modify the mixing valve arrangement to bypass the mixing valve but leave in place. Heaters will be set to a set water temp of 130 or 140 F or so. Tempering will be at the lavs or showers. c. Install new water softener on new pad to serve the courthouse and jail. Remove the PRV at the mixing valve to the jail. d. Replace isolation valves in the garage level and in the chases and install new valves as noted. Isolation valves should be installed in Phase I in order to isolate the different areas of the building. e. Run a new 1” HWR line from the chases to the location of the water heaters (heaters in the basement of the courthouse). Install balance valves on the returns. Install a new circulating pump with 7 day/24 hour time clock. f. In the jail section general cell blocks, holding cells and the admission restroom remove all WC/lav combos and showers. Remove all grout bases and caulk. Remove sanitary piping and carriers in chases as noted on the plans and remove vent piping as noted on the plans. Remove CW and HWS and HWR in the chases as noted on the plans. Remove the tempering valves in the chases. g. Install all new WC/lav combos, showers and piping in the chases to reconnect to new fixtures. Provide all new sanitary and vent piping to the new fixture and hot and cold-water services. Grout in place and caulk edges of new fixtures. Provide individual tempering valves at lavs and showers. Base Bid fixtures based on Willoughby. Trim bases of WC/lavs to account for rolled floor edge at wall. h. Install new pneumatic metering controls for WCs, lavs and showers. i. Install new faucets on three mop sinks with checks to avoid cross flow. 3. Electric: a. Remove and replace the fluorescent and HID lighting in the corridors outside the cells, in the day rooms in the shower areas and in the holding cells. Provide new lighting in the cells (surface mounted). b. For all lighting circuits in the cells, corridors by the cells, day rooms and holding cells provide and install lighting controls to allow personnel to turn on lights to set lighting levels during the day and to little or no light at night (manual dimmers – 0-10 volt controls). c. Provide power to water softener. d. Rewire water heaters and circulation pump (i.e. reconnect).
