Description | The work of this Contract is comprised of saw cutting and patch paving underground utility repairs and adjacent to utility structures, i.e. manholes and valve boxes, and multiuse trails including all necessary prep work and removal and disposal of all spoils and debris. This project is a public works project and is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), in accordance with the State of California Labor Code (Labor Code) Section 1770 et seq. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project and no contractor or subcontractor may be awarded a contract for public works on a public works project unless registered with the DIR pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. The successful Bidder shall not pay less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the DIR. Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file with the District s Engineering Department and may also be found on the DIR Each sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as Bid for Tahoe City Public Utility District, (Project Name), and the envelope should bear on the outside, the name and address of the Bidder. Questions pertaining to predetermined wage rates should be directed to the California Division of Labor Statistics and Research at (415) 703-4280. The successful Bidder shall possess a valid California Contractor Class A or C-12 Contractor s license at the time of the bid award and the license shall remain in effect throughout the term of this contract. Bids must be made on the official Bid Proposal Form furnished with the Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid process. Bids must remain valid for a period of 30 days following the bid opening. Award of the bid is subject to the availability of funds. The total quantity of WORK is based on annual maintenance and operations work completed by the District. The DISTRICT has historically required approximately 1,000- 2,000 square feet of WORK to be completed annually. This quantity is provided for historical purposes and in no way does the DISTRICT make any guarantee as to the total quantity of WORK to be completed as part of this BID. |
