Description | Perform maintenance dredging of Buttermilk Channel, New York, Federal Navigation Project to a depth of -35 feet Mean Lower Low Water (MLLW) plus 2 feet of allowable over-depth and -40 feet MLLW plus 2 feet of allowable over-depth. The proposed maintenance dredging would remove approximately 200,000 cubic yards (CY) of critical shoals from the Buttermilk Channel with subsequent placement at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS). The dredged material from Buttermilk Channel is expected to consist of 0.14% gravel, 17.9% sand, 56.9% silt, and 25.06% clay. |
