Description | Replace two (2) existing switches / turnouts on the North end switching lead. Switches A and B will be replaced. Frogs will be replaced. The rail between the switches and frogs will be replaced. All material will be new 136#. Existing rail will be tied in at the frogs. Switch and grade ties will be replaced. Crossties will be 100% oak, end plated and incised. Anchors will be installed. Good ties may be reused with the Roadmaster’s permission. Ballast will be replaced with 100% new. Limestone is ok. Sub ballast will be replaced as needed. All mud will be removed. Track will be raised to remove the existing belly. Winning bidder will provide surfacing. Turnouts will be #8. Frogs will be self guarded. Switch stands will be National Trackwork Model 1003ARS Automatic Switch stands. Switch points will be knife cut, double reinforced and with a point stop. Switch point protectors will be Western-Cullen-Hayes Model FM. Switch plates will be Pandrol design hooked turnout plates. Heel blocks will be stationary. Rods will be flat with open side jaw clips and adjustable. Old ballast will be piled in an adjacent area for the use of TASD. Bidder will remove and dispose of all old ties and steel scrap. Eight hours minimum track time will be provided each day. Track will be back in service every evening. |
