Description

The event impacted various residential and business areas, impeded traffic flow on the I-710 freeway, and caused significant property damage and economic impacts to businesses in Long Beach. The Project includes the designs for the installation of permanent generators with automatic transfer switches at six (6) pump station sites. The design must be based on the identified need, capacity, damage history, and location in high-risk zones and must increase flood and hazard preparedness, mitigate damages to vulnerable sites, and build a resilient infrastructure to protect and maintain critical services in Long Beach communities. Further, the preservation of neighborhoods in the City is a key element of the Long Beach Strategic Plan. Upgrading the City's Storm Water Pump Stations is a key strategic project to meet that goal. The various work performed by the Consultant shall be performed by, or, where appropriate, under the direction of, personnel possessing the appropriate State of California professional licenses or other certifications (civil, mechanical, electrical, land surveyor, deputy inspector, etc.) required or desirable for the various disciplines necessary for the successful completion of theproject.
