Description | Carteret County Government is seeking bids to renovate the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center within the Morehead City Police Department complex located at 300 N 12th St, Morehead City, NC 28557. A Performance Bond is not required. A Payment Bond is not required. All inquiries concerning the Scope of Services, Proposal Submission Requirements or Site Visits should be directed to: Mr. Ray Farnum Project Coordinator 5231 Business Drive, Newport, NC 28570 Email: Ray.farnum@carteretcountync.gov Telephone: 252-241-6913 Carteret County Government is seeking bids to renovate the 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center within the Morehead City Police Department complex located at 300 N 12th St, Morehead City, NC 28557. Details are as follows: o The 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center is looking to upgrade their current emergency consoles. Electrical and flooring work will be required to facilitate installation of the new consoles. o This project shall be fulfilled in phases, while area is unoccupied, which will be determined after proper electrical identification. The flooring and electrical work shall be coordinated with the POC which will be contingent on console supplier's timeline. o The Contractor shall identify and label which breaker provides power for each console and related receptacles prior to any other work commencing. All existing electrical and data are beneath the raised floor system. o The Contractor shall remove and dispose existing carpet tiles as well as remove the raised floor system which screws may be required for replacement in order to relocate and or add receptacles to accommodate the electrical specifications and location for nine (9) new consoles that will be supplied by the owner. o The Contractor shall ensure that each console consist of a minimum of two (2) dedicated 20-amp circuts with a minimum of six (6) receptacles meeting or exceeding specified requirements shown below. Some of the existing flooring panels have gromets for the electrical and data, these panels shall be relocated for the new locations to avoid extra holes and patch openings as required. o The Contractor shall furnish and install new 2'x2' static resistant commercial grade carpet tiles, per manufactures recommendations, that shall line up with the raised floor system, in other words the carpet seams shall match the raised flooring seams. The Contractor shall install all necessary thresholds, where required, and new 4" black vinyl cove base. Color of carpet tiles are preferred in gray or blue as approved by Owner. The Contractor is asked to provide submittals with bid. The Contractor shall supply a dumpster to dispose of material and existing surplus items that will be identified during the site visit These items consist of existing desk, chairs and miscellaneous furniture. The console supplier will dispose of the existing consoles in the same dumpster. Dumpster location TBD. o The Contractor shall verify all measurements to ensure proper electrical locations. o Moving of all materials, equipment and all cleaning are to be handled by the Contractor. o The anticipated start date for the console supplier is January 16, 2023. It is estimated to take six (6) hours to install a new console. The awarded Contractor shall start work before, during and after the console supplier's installation process. o The Contractor shall be responsible for requesting and paying for criminal background checks as well as obtaining finger prints on all individuals providing services under this contract. Background checks may be provided by any vendor, or from a North Carolina State agency, providing the criminal history check is done nationwide. A criminal history will not automatically disqualify an employee from employment on this contract unless explicitly mandated by law. Background checks and finger prints shall be provided to the County prior to any work commencing. o The Contractor shall obtain all permits, if required, give all notices to POC, and comply with all laws, ordinances, codes, rules and regulations bearing on the conduct of the work. No time extensions shall be granted or financial consideration given to the Contractor for time or monies lost due to violations of any such ordinance, code, law or regulations that may occur. Carteret County Government reserves the right to accept or reject, in whole or in part, proposals directed to the best interest of the County. Each contractor shall fill out the required information within this RFP including Attachment A, Federal Contracting Requirements, UG Provisions, 2 C.F.R. 200.326 and 2 C.F.R. Part 200, Appendix II, Required Contract Clauses as well as the IRAN DIVESTMENT ACT, submit Certificate of Insurance for liability and Worker's Compensation in order for the proposal to be qualified. The Contractor shall commence work to be under this Contract on a date to be specified in written order from the County and or shall fully complete all work hereunder by February 3, 2023 as will be stated in the Notice to Proceed for this contract. |
