Water Treatment Services

Rowan University is seeking proposals from a qualified vendor or vendors for water treatment chemicals and services for the University’s steam generation open recirculating and closed water systems. Due to the critical operation and needs of Rowan’s utility systems, the water treatment vendor shall be a subject matter expert in industrial water treatment and water treatment programs and management must be the vendor’s primary business function. Rowan University is a 2.5 million g.s.f. campus located in Glassboro, NJ. The campus is served by a central utilities plant providing steam, chilled water, and power. The campus also has a satellite chilled water plant located at Bunce Hall that serves several buildings on the south campus. The central plant consists of (3) stand-alone boilers (2-B&W 40,000 PPH, saturated boilers) (1-Superior 26,000 PPH, saturated boiler), (2) cogeneration Rentech saturated HRSG’s (1-18,000 PPH), (1-8,000 PPH), (4) chillers (2-24,000 PPH turbine driven, 2350 ton York chillers) (2-1000 ton Trane electric chillers), and (10) 1000 BAC cooling towers. Bunce Hall consists of (2) 450 ton Trane electric chillers and (1) 2-cell 1000 ton EVAPCO cooling tower. Most buildings throughout the campus utilize heat exchangers for building HVAC systems. A 100 ton Evapco single cell cooling tower is located at the Shpeen Hall location.
