Description | The General Services Administration, Public Building Service, Greater Southwest Region 7, Acquisition Management Division, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for installation of a new double-walled, steel 500-gallon AST at the Russell B. Long Federal Building and Courthouse, 777 Florida Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70801. AST design, installation and operation shall be conducted in accordance with all applicable industry standards and local codes, including applicable rules set forth in Narional Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 30,30a,31, International Fire Code (IFC) and others. ASTs are required by GSA to include spill and overfill protection, release detection, secondary containment and corrision protection as needed. NFPA rules cover installation and operation standards for storage tanks, oil handling systems, and oil burning equipment. Installed ASTs must be certified to meet Underwriters Laboratory (UL) Standard 2085 and include a manufacturer's warranty for a minimum of twenty (20) years. As an Option, GSA may choose to have the Contractor provide the closure and decommissioning of the existing Underground Storage diesel fuel tank (UST) and buried steel piping. |
