Description

The Six Access Shafts Infiltration Mitigation, MSPS includes managing and/or controlling groundwater infiltration into six of the underground access shafts, specifically the elevator shafts. The Mainstream Pumping Station (Project Site) is located in Hodgkins, Illinois at the north end of River Road between the Des Plaines River and the Main McCook Quarry. The groundwater infiltration and evaporation have damaged the elevator equipment. The required mitigations and improvements shall include: pressure/power wash cleaning, drilling and injection of chemical grouting, crystalline waterproofing, floor pitching mortar, and restoring the capacity of existing drainage features.
