Description

This work shall include all labor, materials and equipment necessary to install the conduit of the diameter specified as shown on the plans, as directed by the Engineer in the field, and as specified herein. All work shall be coordinated with the contact shown on the plans for each utility company, or their designated representative. All work shall be performed in accordance with Section 819 of the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction and as specified herein. Reconstruction of 6th Street from River Avenue to Columbia Avenue, College Avenue from 8th Street to 6th Street and Columbia Avenue from 7th Street to 6th Street. The work will include HMA surface removal, pavement removal, roadway grading, aggregate base, HMA surfacing, concrete curb and gutter, snowmelt, brick pavers for driveways, sidewalks and ADA ramps, storm sewer improvements, sanitary sewer and laterals, water main and services, electrical conduits, jack and bore of steel casings, permanent signs and pavement marking, and slope restoration. The bid also will include an alternative bid to snowmelt the roadway and parking areas between College Avenue and Columbia Avenue. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Bond forms are included in the Contract Documents. The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
