Description | Work included in this contract comprises of paving construction including demolition and reconstruction of parking and roadways at Bridgeview Elementary School, under contract with the Pleasant Valley Community School District. Addenda will be posted and available from the plan room as they are issued. The Project shall be bid as a single prime contract. The Project will commence on Monday, June 6 th, 2022 upon a Notice to Proceed, and after the award of the contract, bond documents and insurance are received from the contractor and reviewed for compliance with the bid specifications. The final completion date for the Project is Friday, August 12 th, 2022. Bids shall be made on unaltered Bid Forms copied from the form bound into the Project Manual and submitted in duplicate. Each bid shall be enclosed and sealed in an envelope with the name and address of the bidder, the name of the project, and the date and time of the deadline for receipt of bids. No oral, facsimile, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bidders will be required to provide a security deposit, in the form of either an approved Bid Bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety company authorized to do business in the State of Iowa, cashiers or certified check, or certified share draft in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, in a separate attached envelope. Bid security shall be made payable to the Pleasant Valley Community School District. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price and in accordance with other requirements outlined in the Bid Documents. Should the successful bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory performance/payment bonds, refuse to enter into a Contract on the basis of the bid, or fail to meet the requirements of this Notice and the specifications regulating the award, the bidder's security may be retained as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after the date and hour set for opening of bids. Payments for construction will be made in checks drawn upon any fund from which payment for such work may be legally made. Monthly progress payments will be paid in the manner outlined in the Project Manual. This is a tax exempt project; contractors shall not include Iowa sales tax in their bid proposals. All bidders must provide a statement regarding the bidder's resident status. This statement shall be on the Bidder Status Form designated by the Iowa Department of Labor commissioner and available online. The statement must be signed by an authorized representative of the bidder. Failure by any bidder to provide a completed statement with its bid may result in the Board of Education rejecting the bid as non-responsive. The Board of Education may make the contract award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interests of the Pleasant Valley Community School District. |
