Blacksox Park - CR-43 - City Of Bowie

Blacksox Park is a 64-acre park primarily designed for baseball and softball. The park is divided into two sections, with the ball fields in one section (off Mitchellville Road) and the playground in another section (off Mt. Oak Road). The park offers restrooms as well as a concession facility available for rental. A paved walking trail connects the playground with the athletic fields and to the City's system of hiker/biker trails. The five ball fields are utilized daily for eight months of the year. No projects are planned for FY 2023. Front Parking lot Resurfacing. Retrofit Field Lights #1 & #2 to LED . Replacement of playground. roof replacement. As of August 24, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2028 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
