Description

The objective of re-establishing native ground cover is to (1) obtain a locally sourced understory seed mix that is native to the longleaf pine ecosystem approved by the Tyndall AFB Forester and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Ecologist, (2) provide oversight of the seeding operation, (3) collect data utilizing GIS and other software to delineate all re-establishment areas and provide maps to the Air Force for tracking and future planning purposes with their forestry program. The contractor will be required to submit a workplan clearly outlining their strategy for re-establishing native ground cover of 60-80 acres on the installation. The workplan shall include location maps, seed mixes, schedule, and safety plan. Approximately 10 lbs of native ground cover seed per acre for a total of 600-800 lbs. The contractor is responsible for purchase/collection, storage and delivery of the native ground cover seed. All treatment areas will be delineated with Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment and/or (GIS) technologies to provide the most accurate means of measurement available.
