City Hall Reconfiguration - City of Lawrence

As of June 21, 2023, a bid was released for architect and engineering services and is now under evaluation. Further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. A detailed scope has not been released. The City Hall Reconfiguration Project is a 5 year phased project that addresses the needs for more space in City Hall. The project will addresses the following: reconfiguration of the first floor to accommodate Utility Billing once Planning has moved to their new space in Riverfront; reconfiguration of every floor to maximize office, workstations, and storage spaces; address ADA compliance issues; address security issues for City Hall employees; and any potential projects needed during the course of the 5-year master plan. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
