Description

6 Modular Bids received after the date and time for receipt of bids will be returned unopened. The envelop must be marked with the bidder's name and address. Bids will be accepted only if sealed and clearly marked. The School Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids in whole or in part and also reserves the right to waive the minor technicalities and irregularities in the bids received, if in the sole judgement of the School Committee, such action serves the best inters of the Milford Public Schools. The School | Committee herein declares its express purpose not to award to any bidder unable to furnish evidence, satisfactory to the School Committee, that it has sufficient ability, experience and capital to execute and complete the work in accordance with the contract. Award will be made to the lowest responsive bidder. The scope of the work includes engineering design, prefabrication, site, assembly, installation, and all services required to complete and to deliver the modular classrooms ready for use and occupancy, including any and all associated site work, excavation, general construction, finishes, mechanical, and electrical work. Work pursuant to this Request for Proposals shall reach substantial completion as soon as possible and the proposed occupancy date shall be included in the response. All set up and delivery charges shall be rolled into the prices quoted. The project award shall be based upon total price. If the Milford Public School Central Office is closed due to weather or other emergency, the deadline for receipt of Proposals shall be extended until 3:00 PM. local time on the next business day that the Milford Public School Central Office is open Provide and install one (1 ) new or like new modular unit. Contains six (6) individual classrooms with acceptable sound proofing. Each classroom should contain seven hundred twenty (725) square feet or more. Slight area variation, with Milford Public Schools discretion is permissible. . Student capacity oftwenty-five (25) in each classroom. Grade level: K to grade two (2). Occupancy: to be ready to use as soon as possible. Footings/piles/foundation systems will be the responsibility ofthe proposer. All building systems and components must have a three (3) year warranty. Proposer's representative are strongly encouraged to visit the site on the scheduled walk through date provided in the RFP and provide a list ofanticipated work that may be required to prepare the site to accommodate the Modular Classroom Unit. This work should be included in the proposal. All electrical connections, plumbing connections, natural gas, communication wiring, and other necessary utilities to and from the existing building to the modular building are the sole responsibility ofthe Proposer. Proposals should include a secure and safe connection from the modular classrooms to the existing school. The connection must meet all applicable code requirements.
