Description | The Essex Housing Authority, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the Roof Replacement - Phase 1 at the Chebacco Terrace 667-1 Elderly Housing Development for the Essex Housing Authority in Essex, Massachusetts, in accordance with the documents prepared by Raymond T. Guertin, Architect. The Project consists of: Roof replacement at five (5) two-story residential buildings including replacement of aluminum gutters & downspouts and selective wood trim, and all related work as shown on the Drawings and Project Manual. Alternate No. 1 - Roof replacement at the one-story Community Building including replacement of aluminum gutters & downspouts and selective wood trim, and all related work as shown on the Drawings and Project Manual. Alternate No. 2 - Roof replacement at the one-story Garage Building including all related work as shown on the Drawings and Project Manual. (Base Bid - $258,000.00 Alternates - $33,000.00) Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 44A-J & to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 26 to 27H inclusive. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of ROOFING. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (considering all alternates) and made payable to the Essex Housing Authority. General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation goal reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% percent of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to DHCD (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE GENERAL BIDS ARE OPENED.
