Description | The work consists of replacement of the existing ground-source geothermal HVAC system with an air-cooled variable refrigerant flow system. Bids shall be on a stipulated sum basis for a Single Prime Construction Contract, including respective general, mechanical and electrical Work; segregated bids will not be accepted. Bids will be received at Shelter House, 501 Southgate Avenue, Iowa City, IA 52240 Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will be required in the full amount of the contract. The deposit amount will be refunded within ten (10) calendar days following bid opening, provided complete sets of documents in satisfactory condition are returned, postpaid, to Rapids Reproductions. Electronic Procurement Documents may also be examined online at the Rapids Reproductions Plan Room website: www.rapidsrepro.com/planroom/. Printed sets of Procurement Documents may also be examined at MODUS Engineering, 118 East College Street, Iowa City, IA 52240, during normal business hours. All prime contractor bidders are required to attend the Pre-Bid Conference as a precondition for submitting a bid. Subcontract bidders are also invited to attend at their discretion. C. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be in attendance. D. A visit to the project site has been arranged for bidders following the Pre-Bid Conference. All prime contractor bidders must examine the site before submitting a bid. Work required by the proposed Contract shall begin upon ISSUANCE OF THE OWNER'S "NOTICE TO PROCEED". Mobilization for Work on-site shall begin no earlier than December 1, 2022 The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularity in the bids and in the bidding and to enter into such contract as shall be deemed to be in the Owner's best interest. As the project is funded through several local, state, and federal grants, additional conditions will apply. |
