Description

DAC is requesting the resurfacing of the facility parking lot (main lot and smaller lots in front of the Administrative Building and Maintenance/Co-Gen Building located at Nash Correctional Institution, 2869 US 64A, Nashville, NC 27856. Also included are the facility Roving Patrol single lane track that circles the facility and the road used by delivery vehicles entering into the facility to deliver to Nash Correctional, the optical plant and the print plant. In addition to resurfacing, repairs of cracks in the existing asphalt and potholes will be required as well. As Nash Correctional is a 7-day, 24-hour operation; plans must be coordinated with Facility Management as to minimize normal operations. Contractor shall work logistically with the Facility to ensure work performed allows egress necessary for a 24-hour operation that depends on vehicle traffic using areas of repair on a daily basis by coordinating with Facility Management on which areas can be repaired simultaneously to allow for this without interrupting normal operations. Clean Parking Lot (Approximately 360,000 sq. ft.) Prep Oil Spots areas - All oil spots larger than 12" in diameter should be cleaned per industry standards by torch/heat/new layer of asphalt prior to sealing, approved detergent for such oil spot removal, approved degreaser/primer per industry standard, or any other industry standard approved means that will allow adhesion of sealcoat over existing oil spots. Sealcoat parking lot by brush with two (2) coats Sealmaster Coal Tar Emulsion Sealer or Functional Equivalent. Restripe Parking lines and stencils with traffic paint. Stencils and paint should conform with NCDOT Standards and meet Federal Specification No. TT-P-1952F. White should be parking space and pedestrian crossing coloring with ADA spaces meeting NCDOT Standards. Crackseal major cracks (1/4" to 3/4 ") with hot tar crackfiller. Patch potholes - Two areas of repair will be included in this bid that are located within 100' feet of the Print and Optical Plant with approximate square footage being 800 square feet, where asphalt has been cut/removed to allow for underground utility repair.
