The Project is being bid in bid packages and shall be constructed in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications prepared by Ambler Architects and shall consist of furnishing all materials, supplies, equipment, tools, services, labor and incidental work as required to construct the project described in general as follows: Remodel of an existing 6,500 sf. structure and associated site work and parking lot. Each Bidder will be required to provide an AIA Document A305, "Contractor's Qualification Statement", at the time of the bid opening. All over $50,000 must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, payable without reserve, to the owner and Construction Manager as dual obligees in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid. This security is given as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a Contract with the Construction Manager for the construction of this project, furnish satisfactory labor and materials, maintenance and performance bonds and insurance certificates within ten (10) days after notice of award, and in the event of failure to do so, shall pay to the Owner the sum of five percent (5%) of said bid as liquidated damages. No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the bid opening date. Bids received more than ninety-six (96) hours before the time set for receiving bids as well as bids received after the time set for receipt of bids will not be considered, and will be returned unopened. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities or minor irregularities in any bid, and to determine and select the lowest and best bid. The amount of the deposit for drawings and specifications will be returned to each actual Bidder who returns the drawings and specifications UNMARKED, complete with all Addenda, and in good condition within ten (10) days after opening of bids.
