Description | The Henry County Public Schools solicit firms to submit Bids for HVAC Unit Replacements at Stanleytown Elementary School. A Bid Bond and Contract Security will be required of all bidders regardless of amount. Bidders shall be required to bind their bid for 30 days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or to waive any informality in the bidding procedures. A vendor may not be awarded this bid if they have outstanding pending issues and if they have a project that is three months or greater past the original final completion due date on a current project with Henry County Public Schools. The contract for the project shall be awarded on a lump sum basis of the Base Bid. Alternates chosen at the owners discretion and in any order. Federal prevailing wage rates will be required for this project. Contractor registration in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia is required All work shown on drawings and/or called for in these specifications shall be performed under the General Contract, unless specifically noted to the contrary in the Contract Documents.The project is generally described as the HVAC replacements for Stanleytown Elementary Schools B. The General Contractor shall be: 1. Responsible for the general management of the project. 2. Responsible for hiring all subcontractors. 3. The sole arbitrator of the division of work of all trades, including the patching, repairing and repainting of existing surfaces that may be damaged by work under this contract. Repair to match surrounding surfaces. C. The General Contractor shall coordinate the work of all trades. He shall coordinate all submittals and deliveries for his own work as well as for all subcontractors so as to avoid delays in the progress of the work. He is especially cautioned to examine the structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical drawings as much of the information indicated therein is not repeated in the architectural documents. D. The General Contractor shall coordinate construction operations included under various sections that depend on each other for proper installation, connection and operation. Schedule construction operations in sequence required to obtain best results where installation of one part of work depends on installation of other components before or after its own installation. Coordinate installation of different components to assure maximum accessibility for required maintenance, service and repair. Make proper provisions to accommodate items scheduled for later installation. E. The General Contractor shall coordinate construction operations to assure that said operations are carried out with consideration given to conservation of energy, water and materials. F. The General Contractor shall require the installer of each major component to inspect both the substrate and conditions under which work will be performed. Do not permit work to proceed until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected in an acceptable manner |
