Description PURPOSE & OVERVIEW The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit competitive sealed proposals for a Contract for Restoration and Maintenance of the Historic Courthouse Clock. The courthouse was built in 1926waiver and it is believed the clock is of the same age. The clock tower consisting of E. Howard & Company movements, four (4) dial faces, and four (4) cast bronze bells in the tower. The clock chimes utilizes a Westminster Quarters melody. The clock ceased to operate in March 2018. The hardware, movements, and associated equipment is assumed to be original with electricity replacing the original batteries. Refer to Exhibit A - Clock Movement Images. SCOPE OF SERVICES The County seeks proposals to repair or replace the clock movement allowing the clock to operate with an original appearance. The preferred solution shall result in a working clock which is reliable and functional with sounds original to the current bells. The County reserves the right to select the option that best meets the County's interest. The preferred solution improves the sustainability of the clock and maintains the exterior appearance of the clock faces through regularly scheduled maintenance, availability of parts, and reactive response times to service requests.
